Our Story
Phoenyx is a non-profit association founded in 2022 in Neuchâtel, revolving around the world of video gaming.
It's the story of 6 friends who decided in 2020 to share videos online with the desire to create and gather people who share the same interests as us. Today, we are proud to have one of the most engaged communities in Romandie. Our goal is also to give new people the opportunity to live this adventure with us. That's why 2 years ago, we welcomed several e-sport teams into the association. Having discovered, followed, and loved this competition, we are convinced that it will be an important part of the sport of tomorrow. Just like a traditional sports team, e-sports make the hearts of their fans throb. We want to excite our community and we want it to motivate our players to give their best.
After 2 years of existence, with teams across several games and more than 40 members working in three different areas (Content Creation, Event Organization, and
E-sports), our small group decided to professionalize and organize as an association in order to better support our players, organize even more events, and transmit our values to an ever-growing community.
We want to tell stories, live adventures, and enable anyone to experience them with us.

Our Main Activities
Twice a year, we host our flagship tournament, the "BlackMarket," which gathers about fifty players and averages 350 spectators throughout the event. Always in search of new ideas, we organize other smaller tournaments during the year, thus testing the enthusiasm of our community for different formats. Phoenyx, on average, organizes 6 tournaments a year, bringing together hundreds of players. Throughout the year, we also organize special shows on our Twitch and YouTube channels : association anniversaries, charity events, podcasts, quizzes, etc. These broadcasts are ways for us to easily interact with our community, entertain them, and actively involve them in the life of the association.
In line with our association's image, our tournaments are different from existing ones. We give a chance to both the less skilled and the best players to win the game, through fun rules that allow players of all levels to have fun together.
We also actively participate in the development of events in Romandie through various partnerships with other structures. We have had the opportunity to collaborate with several leading actors in the field such as Fragbox gaming, From esport romand, DashStudio, Lausanne-Sport esports, and many others. Last year, we notably organized an event in collaboration with other associations at the Explorit innovation center in Yverdon, bringing together dozens of players for a memorable day.
E-sports is a field that we became interested in two years ago with a team on the game League of Legends. Right away, we understood the responsibilities it entailed : player support, real social management work, organizing travel, etc. But it's definitely worth it. Having a team also means commenting on their matches, living the victories as well as the defeats with them, and ending up breathless from cheering them on. By sharing these emotions with our community, more than 100 people vibrate with the team. There are many ways for players to confront other teams, whether during online tournaments or directly at the event site (called LAN's).
Every year in Switzerland, hundreds of online tournaments take place and dozens of LANs are organized. The two most important ones are Switzerlan in Bern and Polylan in Lausanne. These events gather more than 2,000 players each day over a weekend.
Phoenyx in 2024:
In recent years, we have realized what e-sports can bring us. Many people discovered us through these competitions, and the people who were already supporting the project have become true supporters of the team. Why stop there? We then decided not to stop there. In 2024 it's not just one team that will play under our colors but five on the four most popular games of the moment: League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Unlike other teams, we are not looking for victory at all costs, we are looking to live above all a human experience. It is important for us to have a team that is cool to follow, that enjoys itself, and that gives its all during events. We primarily want to be able to tell beautiful stories, whether it's by commenting on our players' games in real-time on Twitch or through our YouTube channel where we recount the adventures of the different teams.
Twitch
Viewers watch the videos for free and can comment in real-time in writing. This is the essence of PHOENYX. Several times a week, a member of the association is live on our channel to play, discuss, and interact with our community. Several times a year, we also broadcast special shows and live stream all the events we organize. About fifteen viewers are present each week, and during our major events, more than 60 people watch the live simultaneously. Typically, about 350 unique individuals watch our channel during our events.
YouTube
On our main channel, we creatively post announcements about the association (new teams, new tournaments, new events, etc.). We also trace the feats of our teams during various events in the form of a vlog. These are well-crafted videos that take us time. Our videos average about a hundred views each.
On our secondary channel, you can regularly find complete rebroadcasts of our most important lives and various events. These are long videos without editing but allow us to keep a complete memory of what we do.
Discord
A social network that allows communication both through voice and writing. Our server currently has more than 200 members who discuss and play together. We organize small events every week with the goal of bringing our association closer to its public, notably allowing supporters to play with the players of different teams for an evening.
Twitter/Instagram
On these networks, we inform our community about everything: new teams, new videos online, new events, etc. We also engage a lot with our supporters and with other Swiss teams with whom we maintain very good relations.
